All Star Cheerleading
All-star cheerleading is quite unique in comparison to the other types of cheerleading because it is not associated with a school or sports team; it is strictly competitive based. Currently all-star cheerleading teams consist of 6-36 people on a squad and prepare for competitions year round. Generally a competitive team participates in approximately twelve competitions a year in various locations around the world. Competitive cheerleading tends to be more time-consuming and difficult than a recreational team. In an all star gym you can find many different types of coaches such as a tumbling, stunt, a regular coach, and a choreographer. All star cheerleaders are very skilled in tumbling, dance, gymnastics, and stunting. In order to make the squad you have to go through a tough tryout process. All star cheerleading is very expensive because parents have to pay for uniforms, travel expenses, lessons and other expense to competitions and gym fees.
